2018 Family Reunion Schedule

I am taking this down a notch, our family has grown quite large, it is Nick's turn to host, with no partner or grown children to assist I am trying to make this simpler and less labor intense for the Host families.  Joe's clan had like 15 people, Peggy had only 5. So simplification and asking people to host events and doing more bring your own food to lower the cost for families.

The following is a proposed agenda:

Saturday June 23rd
Checking to cabins/hotels/campers/tents usually after 3:00pm
Welcome bond-fire at Dave and Natalie's, bring your own brats, dogs, s'mores and beer/drinks. Please clean up after your self and kids.

Sunday 24th AM: church services for those who choose.
Golf tournament 2:00pm-6pm $5.00 per entry,
6:00pm drone family photo
Banquet-bring a dish, Tara's cooking her wonderful pulled Turkey sandwiches, Davids Taco Salad
Bring your own drinks and $8.00 for 13 and over and 5.00 for under for food and space and supplies. Bring a desert veggies fruit chips to share and Please clean up after yourselves and kids.

Monday: daytime Leisure activities of Horseback riding, golfing, drone or remote control plane flying, swimming... please set up tee time with club house, we are looking for someone to organize and host horseback riding ( Michelle Nephew did it in 2016 and will not be able to hostess but has info on this) it was a hit in 2016.
Evening: Wine and beer tasting? We need people to host and organize, cost to be determined. Golf course screen porch and deck. Please clean up after yourselves and kids and offer to help before leaving for the evening.

Tuesday: The sisters tea has been changed to a Sisterhood tea/ late lunch at Muddy Moose, men to watch the little kids and supervise children. The Nan Hilber women pretty much set the bar so high last year no one could do it better, the production time has become such a burden that it's not letting the host relax and since it would be Ford women's year we don't know if they are coming. The Muddy moose closes after lunch but they will stay open for us. Self pay.

Wednesday: Brothers Brunch: Tony continues to host this at the VFW, so now the women get to watch the kids and the men get to gather. Self pay.

Thursday mid morning/lunch: if the weather allows we will be going to Maplewood State Park for a pick nick and swimming, bring your own pick nick. There will be a car pass your need to get into state park. $7.00.
Evening: Bunko night: Joe Hilber's hosting 7:00pm in the loft or porch.

Friday: 6:00pm potluck: must-goes, and Slyvan's fishery bring it and share it, golf course screen Porch/deck

A few housekeeping rules: the course has seen an uptake in golfers and now has a back five and so more dangers to children, please, kids must be supervised, please tag supervision of kids under 10 with parents/older siblings-cousins, do not let little kids run around golf course until public golfing has ended, you can check times with Joe.  We will have a small fee added to the week to remunerate Lida Greens for the use of the facilities.  Since the back five holes are now in play glider planes may need to be flown back in the public lands to the west and behind the big red barn.

Joe has some campsites for tents and campers, please speak to Joe about these options... please speak to him about facilities for tioleting/showers and cost.  Tony and I both have campers set up just up from Eva but it would be difficult for us to provide toilets and bathing. One year we put up a pop up camper up by the red barn one year but you'd have to talk to Joe about the shower/toilet cost there... but be warned the workers start pretty early in the morning so it will be noisy.  There is also Maplewood state park ( http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/state_parks/maplewood/index.html ) and Jacobs cove has a camper for rent and there maybe a cabin, Theresa's old spot left, contact them if you want to check on the other cabins. 1-218-863-4281 : http://jacobscove.com/ . Detroit Lakes and Fergus Falls is about 30 minutes away and Fargo 45 minutes.
